Composites have been used in the production of marine products for hundreds of years. The first composites were wood overlays on iron underpinnings. It wasn’t until the 1950s that fiberglass was established in marine mass production. As the marine industry grew and advanced so did the composites, which now encompass areas such as structural reinforcements, drive systems and engine components. Core has always operated at the forefront of industry advancement. For more than 20 years, Core has supplied the marine industry with a diverse range of molded composites.

Maritime industry composites are no longer simple open mold processes. Now, composites are advanced, closed molding processes. Fiber reinforced composites continue to undergo major evolutionary developments as well. Core works extensively with our industry partners to bring new materials and processes to commercialization.
