Summary:  The Quality Engineer position is responsible for analyzing data to determine the root cause of problems using sound statistical method and then recommending and implementing improvements to the CPI manufacturing processes and products based on the results of the analysis.  This includes but is not limited to working with Customer Support to address customer complaints and Operations and Engineering to address failed product audits, failed process/product monitors and high scrap issues and Purchasing to address supplier issues



  1. Leads and Participates in Corrective and Preventive Action teams with the responsibility to ensure that the root cause is determined and appropriately addressed—especially CA for customer concerns
  2. Responsible to lead supplier quality activities including but not limited to, supplier approval, supplier audits, supplier PPAP, initiating and following up on supplier non-conformance process (disposition and corrective actions)
  3. Analyzes data and creates many types of reports for failures and failure trends used to Identify areas for improvement and works with a team to implement approved improvement ideas (i.e. scrap reduction, product quality etc.)
  4. Assists in the definition and documentation of quality processes and procedures. (including but not limited to PFMEAs, Control Plans, procedures, work instructions and forms)


  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Industrial Technology or similar science/ manufacturing discipline); and minimum of 1 years manufacturing experience  (quality, engineering or operations)


  • Minimum of 5 years experience working as a Quality Engineer or related filed.


  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Analytical skills to evaluate the various aspects of the processes (MSA, SPC, Capability etc.)
  • Leadership/ Decision making
  • Strong knowledge regarding quality standards prescribed by the customers (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949
  • Clear communication both verbally and in writing.
  • Independently develop and implement project plans
  • Train/ influence other employees
  • Computer (Microsoft office—Word—Excel; Minitab;)

Summary: The Tooling Engineer is responsible for the research, design, development, build, validation, and implementation of molds for new and existing product manufacturing and production processes.



  1. Support CPI molding programs by managing the design, fabrication, validation and repair and maintenance of program tooling through the coordination of any outside vendors or internal resources
  2. Develop and manage the production tooling standards as needed
  3. Develop and rate tooling suppliers for quality, delivery, competitive pricing and location
  4. Developing preventative maintenance programs, advising on spare parts inventory, and coordinating the repair and servicing of tooling
  5. Member of the APQP team (cross functional group that addresses any quality or manufacturing concerns/needs before production starts) with responsibilities including managing suppliers for the design, manufacture and validation of molds for new programs
  6. Ensure necessary documentation is updated for ongoing engineering changes related to tooling.
  7. Continuous Improvement of existing molding programs to increase profitability, reduce scrap, reduce waste, and downtime reduction
  8. Work with internal and external resources to resolve product or production issues
  9. Lead or assist in corrective or preventive action root cause analysis, implementation and verification
  10. Other additional miscellaneous duties
  11. All other duties as directed by supervisor

  1. Technical degree in related area or demonstration of equivalent experience and skill. Bachelor’s degree preferred

  3. Experience in plastics process manufacturing environment
  4. Extensive computer skills including Microsoft Office products
  5. Ability to develop project plans, coordinate projects, communicate changes and progress and complete projects on time and on budget.
  6. Ability to collect research data, using intuition and experience to analyze data
  7. Ability to lead a team and use problem solving techniques

Ability to communicate complex information to external customers, vendors, management, and team members.


Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.




Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
