Objective:  

To support the manufacturing plant in all aspects of compression molding and post-molding operations through proper troubleshooting techniques, process control, and process improvements, so as to ensure customer satisfaction and plant profitability.

Background:

  • BS in Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans
  • Experience in reinforced fiberglass industry and/or molding practices

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Product quality – internal and external
  • Process discipline
  • Customer liaison for product and quality
  • Root cause analysis and permanent corrective action
  • Project management
  • Trouble shooting and maintaining molding parameters

Desired traits:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self starter, independent, but able to function in a team environment
  • Knowledge of CAS, Solid works a plus
  • Ability to travel
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project management tool
  • GD&T knowledge and understanding
  • TS16949, QS9000 or ISO9001 knowledge
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred

Job Details

Organization: Core Molding Technologies  
Location: Gaffney, SC
Reports to: Plant Engineering Manager

Main Purpose of Job

Supports manufacturing operations to promote safety, efficiency, and productivity by performing PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, automation projects, robot path programming, and integration of new systems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

-Develop control logic software and user interface applications.

-Perform low voltage control wiring and equipment connections.

-Troubleshoot current robotic and PLC systems.

-Integrate new automation and controls system projects

-Modify and assist un upgrading existing equipment controls for continuous improvements
-Assist in the start-up of new equipment and processes.
-Develop and support robotic paths and operations for multiple processes.

Qualifications

-Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC software

-Familiarity with low voltage equipment controls.

-Experience with industrial automation.

-Experience with Fanuc and ABB industrial robot programming preferred.

Required Experience

Level of education: Certification in electronics or automation

 

Job related work experience: 2 years minimum of experience in a manufacturing environment
